Great Fun!!, October 16, 2008

Lego Indiana Jones is good clean fun, no blood, no swearing, no gory violence...so why on earth play it?

If you've played Lego Star Wars you'll understand the games concepts. However, let's make one thing clear; this game has to be played in co-op mode to be enjoyed to the full. Strange thing to say, but it’s true.

Lego Indiana Jones is playable by kids to adults. It almost comes across as a game a father plays alongside his son. It has great features in it. The settings are great; the little animations between levels are comical and the overall game play and characters are magnificent. If you’re a fan of the first three movies (and like me not one of the fourth), you’ll love this game as you live all three adventures all over again, from the fight with the bald dude in Raiders of the Lost Ark and the Mola Ram in Temple of Doom, to the comical goings on between Indy and Indy Senior in The Last Crusade.

You also have added little mysteries and bonuses in the game. One of these is the ability to unlock characters that appear throughout the films. Why unlock characters? Because though you can complete the levels and adventures of Indy, you can go back with different characters that have different abilities to unlock and find more treasures.

Rumor has it that you can also find 5 Star Wars characters somewhere in the game. There are many more unlockables and mysteries such as post packages which have different abilities like multiplied treasure, artifact detectors and many more, sometimes pointless, items.

There are some bad points. No matter what happens, you can’t really fail a level. You lose your money, that’s about it. In some sense, you don’t really have a challenge to complete the level. Also if you enjoy the game reading as 100% complete, you have to be worried, because some of the mysteries are impossible to find unless you come across them with plain sheer luck, or look it up on the net.

The only other problem is, unless you enjoy the computer playing with you, the game only seems to be fun with 2 players in co-op mode. On of those players has to be a kid, because you can’t enjoy it with 2 adults unless your both huge fans of the movies.

To sum up, I’d give the game a rating of 7/10. It is worth its value and overall I did not think it was a waste of my time. It has its bad points but the good points prevail. With more mysteries than Michael Jackson’s wardrobe, you’ll find Lego Indiana Jones a very fun game to play.
