This game is rated 10+, I can't figure out why. Somehow I don't think under 10's are going to swallow the lego peices.

Lego Batman is the fifth installment of the lego travellers games. By now, they have improved from the previous games and have got the perfect game, NOT. Though its interesting to play the game still has the bad points of the older games like bad AI, poor jumping judgement and sound effects that are too familiar from the previous games.

Batman lovers will find this game to be fun to play. However, it isn't based on any comic storyline nor any film. The storyline of Lego Batman is unique to the game, though after playing it you might think that perhaps the films would have provided for a better storyline.

Everything is made of lego, except Gotham City. Gotham city is dark, dull, dirty and has no character. Which is a good point, because it's not suppose to. The game itself is based on the same concepts as previous titles like Lego Indiana Jones and Lego Star Wars. You get a couple of blokes or so, and you go around smashing and bashing and moving on to the next level.

In the first storyline, your Batman and Robin. After that you become the villians and live the story again from the villians point of view, to see how he or she plotted the demise of the dynamic duo. The only problem, for some, is that you play with the villian all the way till the showdown with Batman, and thats where it ends. The way of the Comic, you can't defeat Batman.

The cutscenes in the game are fun and at times comical, with Robin stealing the show. The characters in the game are also unique and intriguing. Batman and Robin have their own suits. Robin has one magnetic suit that he can walk up brick buildings... Batman has one where he plants bombs and blows up things... err... thats what Batman does right...

The villians themselves are great. They all have their own special ability. Poison Ivy gives you a fatal kiss, the riddler can control your mind, the joker gives you a buzz and Mr. Freeze gives you the chills. The characters are excellent representations derived from the comic book and they are all them insane evil selves. Of course, the game isn't complete without the inclusion of one super villian, Killer Moth. Remember him, he was... he was... err... I guess I don't.

We all remember the soundtrack from the 1989 Batman film. If you haven't heard it or can't remember it, after playing this you wont forget it! You'd think Warner Brothers who own the rights would have given these guys a bit more than one soundtrack to play with all the way through the game.

Overall this game is fun to play and is more of the smashing bashing, lego crahing, treasure collecting gameplay that we've come to know and expect from the lego adventurer games.
