Enough to make you think a while about weather your going to turn left when you go through the next door or turn right (for fear of a nasty waiting to maul you). The game uses lighting and sound to great effect and the game although not really hard to start with does get steadily harder as the game progresses with bigger more difficult enemies (and some even regenerate!!!). Just when you start to build an inventory of med packs and ammo you've used them up again, keeping you forever on your feet. My only criticism about this game would be that for some reason it doesn't pull you in to start with, you have to trawl through some parts even though their is always something to do. However the latter half of the game picks up pace and continues to a good finish. I really enjoyed playing this game and although its hard to place now with the upcoming releases it could be one of the top ten games of the year. Before playing the game I would recommend watching the comic strips (which can be viewed on youtube or EA's website) and "Dead Space Downfall". They both heighten the experience and give a good prologue to the story.
