Brain Challenge is a fun and healthy way to exercise and stimulate your brain. The replay value of this is high because each day you feel motivated to take the Daily Test and see how much you’ve improved from the previous day. The Daily test consists of 5 random games, 1 from each of the 5 game categories. You start at “using 10% of your brain” and you work your way up until you’ve achieved 100%. Each time you take the Daily Test, depending on how well you did, you’re brain usage goes up by 0 – 2%, so you can imagine how long it’d take to reach 100%, and of course the closer you get to it, the harder the challenges get.

There’s also a training area which allows you to practice on the games and prepare yourself for the Daily Test. Not all of these games are unlocked by default; ironically, you unlock them by taking the Daily Tests. Each of the 5 game categories are Logic, Math, Memory, Visual and Focus; each of the 4 games in each category can be played on Easy, Medium or Hard, however, some games on the hard difficulty are near impossible. For those who are Red/Green colorblind (which is 20% of all males), 2 of the mini-games in this game are very difficult because some shades are colors are so close to another shade that it’s very difficult to tell the colors apart.

The minigames here are similar to a lot of the brain games out there, but it does have a few unique ones. Some of the games which it includes are Arithmetic where you do math calculations; Balance where you figure out which object is the heaviest by observing all the different objects balanced with other objects; Garage where multiple cars are driving in and out of a Garage and you have to figure out how many are left in the garage; Ascending where you have to choose which of the 4 sections has the least amount of squares in it, than the 2nd most, than 3rd most and then the most; and Bouncing Ball where many balls are jumping and you quickly have to choose which is jumping the highest.

You get a lot for your money with this game in my opinion. If you’re like me and will be playing it daily, you’ll make full use of the game in no time, and you’re brain will notice a difference to – I do a lot of programming in my job and my math and logic abilities have gone up a bit due to playing this game each morning before work. And for $10 (aka 800 Microsoft Points), you not only get 20 minigames, but you get a few modes of game play also; this is what else you get: Online mode which lets play with up to 4 others in an online match which reminds me of the UNO game for the Xbox live arcade where everyone’s got cards and you take turns drawing them but in t his, you play the game that’s on your card - Rankings lets you compare your records with your friends and with the entire world – Creative Mode lets you play 3 pointless “creative” games – Stress Test lets you play 4 minigames while having to do other tasks such as rotating the right analog, playing 2 games at once, playing the game with stuff on the screen, etc – Multiplayer mode which simply lets you play with a friend – and then there’s a mode which, if you have a kid, can let your kid take a Kid Test.
