Is anyone into Fighter games??? I am majorly into fighters. I personally don';t care if it's 3D, 2D, martial arts, or uses special abilities.
MY super fav so far is Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 mainly for it's variety of characters to choose from. 56 Characters. That's a major list of characters to choose from.
I did hear that Mortal Kombat Armageddon has clode to 60+ characters plus a character creation system that allows you to design your own characters with specific moves. I don't have this game, but would like to some incite on this.
As for specific other fighters I play, I also play the following...
Tekken = The only TRUE martial Arts game out there. Virtua Fighter is not too bad, but I hate the fact that they limit the ammount of characters to choose from. their latest one only has 13 characters, not much variety at all...
Soul Calibur = Maybe one of the best Sword Slashers out there. Course, I have not seen too many other 3D Fighters that use weapon techniques.
Capcom Vs. SNK = The ultimate in 2D Fighters, right next to Marvel Vs. Capcom.
SNK Vs. Capcom Chaos = Now NeoGeo makes their own version of Street Fighter Vs. King Of Fighters. THis version REALLY ROCKS. Don't get me wrong, Capcom did a very good job with Capcom Vs. SNK 2.
King Of Fighters = It doesn't matter which one, they ALL ROCK. NeoGeo is a true engineer when it comes to fighters as well as originality in characters.
Here is a huge list of fighters to watch out for as well, if only to see if you remember these fighters...
Time Killers = This was a very interesting fighter, and was actually a good fighter, considering it was made by a generic game company called Stratta. THis fighter used an extra button called the HEAD button wich allowed you to use head butts to attack people, not just your fists or kicks. You could also cut your opponents limbs off and even if you lost a limb, you could still beat the crap out of your opponent. WARNING, do not play this game on your genesis, look for this in your arcades, the best version is the arcades.
Killer Instinct 1 & 2 = This was one of the best Combo fighters out there for it's time, but quickly forgotten over time.
Blood Storm = A mockery of Mortal Kombat with a TON of secret moves and easter eggs.
Mortal Kombat 1, 2, 3, Ultimate, Trilogy, 4, Shoalin Monks (Trilogy being the best for me until I can play Armageddon.)
Survival Arts = a cross between Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter
Martial Champions = Anime style street fighter with only 3 buttons.
Power Instinct 1, 2, 3 = A really messed up but good fighter game.
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure = Street Fighter wannabe...Blah...
Plasma Sword = 3D Fighter from Dreamcast
Eternal Champions = Those who are Genesis fans will remember this, they also made a Sega CD version which had double the amount of characters.
Shaq-Fu = Um, yeah, lets not go here and say we did...
T.M.N.T. Tournament Fighter = Surprisingly, this was a GREAT fighter. You could play as your fav Ninja Turtles and each had some very nice abilities. The SNES version was good, the Genesis one was not as impressive.
OMF 2097 = The PC's BEST fighter ever. Those who know this game know that this was a fanastic fighter to keep.
Cardinal Syn = This was actually a pretty good fighter for the PSX, I even did a complete strategy guide for this game if you can find it. Ask me about it if you still own this game.
Rival Schools = Now this was a very nice fighter that Capcom made. Although rather old now, I still catch myself playing this game from time to time.
Samurai Showdown I, II, III, IV, V = These rocked, V being the best one so far. NeoGeo really out done themselves with this fighter. I totally HATED the fact that they took out Genan and Earthquake. I also loved Sieger, he was such an original character with that super sized gauntlet. I thought they were awesome characters regardless of their weaknesses.
World Heroes 1, 2, Jet, Perfect = This one I liked because it was original, as NeoGeo is famous for, originality.
Waku Waku 7 = Um, not much to say about this fighter, but it was okay, despite the fact that the last boss was a giant black cartoonish blob.
Kizuna = This was an interesting fighter from NeoGeo. Used a Tag battle system, very nice special and super abilities. Once again, original characters.
Guilty Gear = As much as I hate to say it, it's just another Capcom wannabe, but it does have original characters.
Warrior = Probably one of the first fighting games EVER. It was made back in 1980's, used 2D lined polygons, was sorta like a sword fighter game.
Street Fighter 1, 2, CE, TE, Super, Super Turbo = Please, must we REALLY go here???
Street Fighter Alpha (Zero) 1, 2, 3 = Again, must we go here???
Virtua Fighter 1, 2, 3, 4 = Everyone who was a Sega fan should know this game by now. Was not totally impressed with this one, but it did have it's ups.
Tekken 1, 2, 3, Tournament, 4, 5 = They ALL rocked. The best Martial Arts fighter out there.
Soul Edge (Blade - PSX), Soul Calibure 1, 2, 3 = Okay, I will say I liked this fighter, but why did they go from Soul Edge to Soul Calibure???
Battle Arena Toshinden 1, 2, 3 = 3 was the best one, close to 16 characters, all original.
Metal & Lace:Battle Of The Robo Babes = A fighter game made by Mega-Tech Software. The company is dead, but the PC fighter is still around if you can find it.
Rise Of The Robots/Rise 2 Ressurection = Rise 2 was much better, more robots, now you can select a robot with projectiles and super moves.
Iron & Blood = A game made by the people who braught you all those AD&D games.
Thrill Kill = This game was never released for PSX due to it's graphic nature, and also because the original company was sold to another gaming company and decided to cancel it's release.
Bloody Roar 1, 2, 3 = This iwas a very original idea, mainly a Martial Arts with use of animal morphings to give it a more intense gameplay.
Street Fighter EX 1, 2, 3 = Capcom's project into geting into the 3D era, some say they liked it, some disagree.
Bikini Karate Babes = Uses live action girls in a series of animations all wearing bikinis.
